A community outreach program implemented in 2001 having been a vision of both Bishop Ellis and Brother Rodney Bell. The orginal Food Pantry was implemented around 1978 by Rev. Richard Menifield. Desiring to feed families within the community on an ongoing basis and not simply during the holiday seasons. Knowing the Lord has said (Mt. 26:11) "for ye shall have the poor always with you" and (Gal. 2:10) "we should remember the poor." The Food Pantry operating out of the Multi-Purpose Building is providing more than 150 baskets of food to needy families each 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month. The pantry is currently expanding its services to include a Community Referral Service Center, which will provide services such as: explanation of telephone and utility bills, legal referrals, medical referrals, Social Security information and other professional services that will assist the community particularly the elderly.
