The Sisters of Mercy was another vision of our pastor Bishop Ellis. The sole focus of this ministry is to do the will and commission that God has set before them with love, unity and a clean and pure heart. (Isaiah 6:8) "Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, here am I, send me." They will visit the sick and shut-in both members and nonmembers also assisting the pastor in whatever capacity necessary. In 2002, along with the Laymen, this ministry became a part of the prison ministry visitation program. In May 2002 Bishop Ellis officially renamed the ministry "The Brothers and Sisters of Mercy" as the membership which originally started in 1993 included only women, expanded and now includes male members. This ministry desires to continue to allow the Lord to lead them in bringing hope, comfort and encouragement to the multitudes.
